Nu har även militärmakten börjat profilera sig i klimatfrågan. Dr. Bruce West på Army Research Office hävdar att förändringar i jordens yttemperatur är direkt kopplade till … de kortsiktiga statistiska fluktuationerna i solens strålning och de mer långsiktiga solcyklerna.
In the March, 2008 issue of Physics Today, West, the chief scientist of the Army Research Office’s mathematical and information science directorate, wrote that ”the Sun’s turbulent dynamics” are linked with the Earth’s complex ecosystem. These connections are what is heating up the planet. ”The Sun could account for as much as 69 percent of the increase in Earth’s average temperature,” West noted.
Bruce West menar att IPCC har gjort ett dåligt jobb när det gäller att räkna ut solens inverkan på temperaturen och att de följaktligen på ett signifikant sätt överskattat människans bidrag till den globala uppvärmningen.
Intressant – inte minst att en ”skeptiker” instinktivt känner igen ”the truth”…
Men visst är artikeln tänkvärd. Och det kan vara värt att hålla i bakhuvudet att författarna inte ifrågasätter _att_ människan bidrar till klimatförändringarna (eller själva klimatförändringarna), utan bara om tillräcklig hänsyn tagits till solens inverkan.

”During the 20th one continues to observe a significant correlation between the solar and temperature patterns: both records show an increase from 1900 to 1950, a decrease from 1950 to 1970, and again an increase from 1970 to 2000. However, a divergence in the upward trend of the two records is also evident. A comparison between the curves indicates that the sun might have contributed approximately 50% of the total global surface warming since 1900 [Scafetta and West, 2006]. Since 1975 global warming has occurred much faster than could be reasonably expected from the sun alone.”
